What will She Think of Next?

Kennedy is at it again, well more like she is always at it, but this week with some extra flair. She has this mind that I can't explain and can't seem to control....

Here are some of her recent random thoughts:

1. For Family Home Evening I gave a lesson about letting you light shine. I had a candle as a prop and talked about how we need to be kind, loving, bright, good examples of Jesus Christ. I gave the lesson we played an activity (hide the candle) and were done.

The next day we went on a road trip to find a new place to live. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive and we didn't have our DVD player (can you imagine:)) She was such a stinker the whole way there. She was screaming, whining, and crying the entire time. Finally I turned around and basically told her I was going to come back there and give her something to cry about (bad mom, I know). She responds by telling me that I was being a DARK CANDLE. WHAT? She went on and on about how I was not a shiny candle and that I was not being a good example and letting my light shine. She was more right than I want to admit, but I guess at least I know she was listening to the lesson. :)

2. We were driving down the road and she tells me "Mom do you know I have a boy collection?" "A what?" "A boy collection. I keep it in my head." I had to laugh just at that, but she kept going. "I have all these boys I like, but dad says I am too little so I keep a collection in my head." "Who is in your collection." "Well, there is Justin G. (from school), Hunter (from church), Jakie (her cousin-we'll have to deal with that later), Peter Parker (yup, Spiderman), and Superman." "Wow, that is quite the collection." "I know, but it is for when I grow up cuz I am just little right now and dad says no way!"

Each time she thinks of another boy she tells me she is going to add him to her collection, and she has even taken some of them off the list. She cracks me up, but I am a little worried that at 4 years old she has a "collection".

3. We were reading a book together about professions/jobs. I was telling her about construction workers and then awhile later about architects. She then tells me "Hey mom do you think that construction workers and architects go together?" "why do you think that?" "Well, one draws houses and the other builds them. I bet they would make a great team." "You are so right!" "Well, I just thought about it and it made sense." What a funny little girl I have.

Those are just some of my favorites this past week. She is such a passionate and amazing little girl. I am amazed at how her brain is constantly going and putting things together. She is giving me a run for my money, but I just love my sweet/fiery little girl. :)

Kennedy is so smart. Ashlynn and her definitley think along the same lines. I was told the other day while I was raising my voice a little bit (happens more than I would like to admit), that I was choosing Satan's plan. Oh, how I am grateful that my 5-year-old can put me in line. I don't have to worry quite yet about a "collection" though. That is too funny!!

I laughed the whole time! You definitely have your hands full. It astounds me at what she comes up with. She definitely doesn't miss a thing! I hope we can get together this summer!
