Trunkin' and Treatin'

I know this post is late and I have already posted most of the pictures, but I use this blog as a journal and so I now have to write about our Halloween night.

We began the evening at our church with a Halloween Party where we ate chili, played games, chatted with friends, and went trunk-or-treatin. Kennedy and Alli went as "leaf fairies" and Xander as a "Wobot". They all loved their costumes and it was so fun to get them all dressed up.

*Side story- I had planned on making Alli a cheerleader but had bought a costume like Kennedy's for backup and because it was on sale. Well, I had on her cheerleader outfit and was ready to go and she decides that she was going to cry and hold up the fairy outfit that matched her sister. She wanted a wand and wasn't impressed with her cheer outfit. So of course I (Derek) caved and we had two adorable fairies for Halloween.*

Bad Parent Story

Xander was hilarious in his robot costume. He loved loved loved it!!! He came running into the gym and continued to run laps for the first 10 minutes. Everyone there loved his costume and that only fed his craziness. These next pictures are of him trying to pick up a ball unsuccessfully. Derek and I couldn't figure out what he was doing at first, but then realized that he was trying to pick up a ball but got stuck on top of it and couldn't move. We did help him, but not until I got a few pictures and laughed until I cried. :) He is such a funny boy and I just love that he loved his costume so much.

Success!

Xander too
After we ate and played games it was time for the candy! All three of my kiddos had it down after the first car.

We then went to a friends neighborhood and went trick-or-treating to a few houses (my preferred method).

Alli was willing to trade her binky for candy--that is huge!

oh so cute!

It was a long but fun night. I never really liked Halloween until now, it's funny what kids change about you. I love watching them enjoy holidays to the fullest. Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!

Haha! LOVE the shot of Xander struggling on the ground. I'd have laughed right along with you. Poor little guy.

I still think that wobot costume is pretty much the best costume out there. That is awesome! Cute, cute kids!
