Valentines Box

Kennedy loves anything to do with holidays or celebrating. When she found out that she got to make her own Valentines box, she was beside herself. She immediately was brainstorming and trying to decide what to do. She mentioned a cat, but someone else had already done that. She mentioned a few other things and then I mentioned that when I was younger I had made a dog out of hearts and thought it was pretty cool. She thought that sounded good and so off we went. She did all of the cutting, gluing, and taping. :) I think I had just as much fun as she did watching her work so hard and seeing her so excited with the finished product. She did great!

She really liked her box until she went to school and someone said that girls shouldn't have a dog box, and that took the wind out of her sails for a bit. :( She came home and talked to me about it, and we decided that if she liked it, it really didn't matter what someone else thought. She then said "I like it!" and that was that. :)

Lame kids. I am glad he didn't keep her down for long. I remember making my Valentine boxes with mom. My favorite was an elephant! Tell Kennedy that she should totally do it for next year. We used the foam from the hair curlers to make his nose. On the way to school some lame boy knocked it out of my hands and the legs broke. I was really upset but I fixed it and all was good.
