I just thought I would post a few pics of the ice storm that has rocked the New England states. We were without power, electricity, and heat for 3 full days and that was considered quick many others are still waiting. I cannot describe the beauty and the harshness of the storm so I thought I would share some pics.
Beauty

This is all ice--not a bit of it was snow. CRAZY!

Let me just say that the Honeymoon is over! I have really enjoyed it here thus far, but this storm was quite the experience and brought me back down to earth. I got a big reality check and I now know that if I want to be able to protect and take care of my kids, I need to be prepared! (which we weren't)

Wow! Kristi that is awful. I had no idea the weather would be that crazy in Maine. You are a tough woman, I cannot imagine 3 days without power! I'm glad you guys survived the wild experience.
WOW It is beautiful but not my cup of tea. Bless your heart! You are a trooper. We will sure keep your family in our prayers. Love ya, Aunt Vicki
Oh my goodness. That is beautiful, but only from the inside of a warm heated home looking out. How did it go with the kiddo's with no power for three days? Those are the things memories are made of. I hope you don't have to experience that again for a long long while. Love you!!
Holy Crap Kristi! That is crazy! Those picture are amazing, but I can't imagine going without power for 3 days WITH kids. Yikes! You've got to write another blog and fill us in on those details!!
Wow! How long does it take to thaw a car?
oh my goodness that is crazy! I hope you stayed warm during all of this.
I remember the ice storms from living in Oregon it is terrible. Good luck on the no heat thing. That makes it so hard. Shop alot when you do so you don't have to go out alot.
HOLY SMOKES!
All that comes to my mind is : HOLY COW!!!! I just got a new appreciation for Arizona. It's been raining today and the way they talk about it on tv, you'd think it was a Category 5 hurricane.
Good luck!!!
Kristi-wow! Talk about Mother Nature in all of her power and glory! It is exquisitely beautiful and potentially deadly! I am so glad that you all "weathered" it so well..no pun intended! We woke up to no power on Christmas and opened presents by candlelight! So romantic! It does make you appreciate all of our modern conveniences. We have our fireplace, our woodburning stove and also our storage so we could live for months and not loose any weight! Which I have! We had also filled up several water containers and our bathtubs so we could flush when neccesary! So we were fine! Glad you were also! Love you all so much-MOM
