Last week we were able to getaway for a few days and it was so much fun!!! Derek had a conference he needed to attend and we decided to tag along. The kids were so excited to stay in a hotel, and not just any hotel, but one with a pool! They couldn't wait to sleep on the "couch bed" and play in the pool.

Derek had meetings all day so they kids and I started our day at a toy store where we played and looked at all the fun toys for quite some time we then met up with some of our friends and had a great day playing with them. We went to the children's museum and had a blast.
Kennedy and Elise are such good friends.
They enjoyed playing fireman and grocery store.
rock climbing

Everyone decided to get their face painted.

Kennedy chose a snowflake because she can't wait for snow (I can)

Xander chose a snake

Alli sat still long enough to get a smeared flower. :)

My little superstars having fun with music.
Alli was singing away while Kennedy played for her

Pirate ship
My favorite part of the museum was when they put on a play. They performed the Three Little Pigs and it was a hoot!
Here they are hiding in their houses

I just love her face in this picture

The three little cute piggies!
(Elise, Kennedy, and Darrel)
We got home and they wanted to go straight to the pool. Derek had just finished his meetings for the day and was able to come with us. I think you can tell by their faces how excited they were to go swimming with their dad and mom.

We then went to our favorite restaurant in Portland, Costa Vida. We met up with some of Derek's old co-workers from AZ who are now in the CRNA program. It was fun to chat with them and get to know them better. It is strange to see them where we were a year ago and yet very exciting. It has gone by so fast and I assume will continue to do so (or at least hope so).
We ended our night with a lot of this

and a little of this.

Although Derek had to be gone most of the time, we had a great time. The kids were great and they enjoyed spending time doing things just for them. I loved seeing my friend and meeting some of the people Derek works with. It was a great and much needed little getaway!
