Bed time around our house was somewhat ridiculous (understatement). Kennedy and Xander would be so tired but as soon as they got into their room they would play, laugh, fight, destroy, or anything else you can think of--except go to sleep. Derek and I were tired of the constant battle and so we came up with a plan that if the kids earned enough stickers by going to bed, they could get a prize. The kids really liked the idea and did a great job at going to bed-most of the time. I had decided that they had to earn 5 stickers in a row in order to earn a reward. I thought this would be a piece of cake, boy was I wrong! 5 measly stickers that is all we were asking. They would do really well for 4 days and for some reason that 5th day they just couldn't do it.
Well, we were at the mall one day and passed by Build-a-Bear and went inside. The kids were so enthralled with all the stuffed animals and clothes that I said "If you get your 5 stickers in a row you can come back and get a bear". They were both really excited and kept talking about how they were going to earn a bear and were picking out outfits then and there. I hoped this would spark enough excitement that they would go to sleep and our nights would be struggle free. :)
After a lot of hard work....He Finally Did It! Xander earned his Build-a-Bear! It took over three months, but he did it! Here are some pictures of the eventful day. He was so proud of himself, and had a great time.

Stuffing his brown soft bear.
Putting in his heart he picked out.
Giving him a bath and brush
(this was his favorite part and he spent a lot of time brushing his bear)
Ready to take him home and love him!
Kennedy has yet to earn her bear, but she gets really close each week, it is just that 5th day. :) Bedtime has definitely gotten a lot better for us, and even though we still have our nights they are fewer and not so extreme.

What a smart idea Kristi! And may I just say what a handsome little guy Xander is!! My goodness you are going to be in trouble when he gets older!
What a sweet, smart mommy and daddy!! That is great. He looks like he had a blast!!!!
That is a great idea! Xander is adorable. The pictures of his excited face almost made me tear up...I am such an emotional mom.
Bat-bear??!! That cracks me up!
Way to go Xander!!!! That is a great idea. That kind of surprizes me that Xander earned his before Kennedy. I don't know if that would be the case around here. I'm kind of tempted to test it out though. I'm sure Kennedy will get there soon enough. Yay for Build-a-Bear and yay for easier bedtimes.
