You know you have failed as a mother for the day when your 3 year old says to you as you put her to bed "Are you going to be a nice mom or a mean mom tomorrow?"
I respond by asking her "What do you think?" She said "I hope a nice mom because mean moms are not very fun or nice."
Don't you just love how honest kids are? I love it, even if it does call me out. Ha! I need to do better I do not want to be a mean mom either. :)
So to mean moms everywhere, lets try to do better tomorrow. :)

That is so funny:) I cant imagine you as a mean mom. except for when my mom told the story about you stealing scooters. then I might have been able to picture some attitude shining through.. the nerve of some people eh?
Honey I imagine every mom has heard that at one time or another. If only they would be so good all the time we could be nice all the time.
Colby told my parents tonight as we left them "I'm so sad you are going to miss me."
They are priceless. :) Hang in there.
Love ya, Aunt Vicki
Mark laughed so hard when I told him that she said that! Kids are so honest sometimes too honest! When I hand out with my 5 year old neice leah she is constantly reminding me how I am behind on my hairstyles etc... Ashley you need to trim your hair, you need to paint your nails, but my favorite is when i Have big blemish on my face she says that is a big mosquito bite!! bless her heart but I love her:)
That is so great! I use it myself as an excuse when I am at my wits end telling them to beware for the mean mom if they don't leave me in time out. So I think I am worse when you use it as a weapon. Kids are great!
Well at least she knows it could be either one, Noah knows to expect a mean mom every time! You are a great mom, you make awesome birthday cakes, read books, play barbies non-stop, and buy wonder woman costumes! There is no doubt that you are a good mama, well at least not in my mind, but kids won't realize that until they grow up! Love you!
Nice or mean mom huh? Did you answer back and say are you going to be nice or mean daughter tomorrow?
Kristi ~ my mom and I laughed so hard telling my sister in law Carlee about this today. Each of us moms can relate! Tooo funny! I love your honesty girl.
When we were on our way to the store this morning, I was lecturing Colby on what was expected of him in the store (esp with carlee with us) and he says "well is anyone going to hit me?". I said well no who would hit you? Colby says well you will if I don't behave! :) Poor kid makes it sound like he has it rough... I assure you he doesn't! :)
That is hilarious! And also kind of sad, yikes I swear I am such a mean mom sometimes. It is so hard! Thank goodness for nap time is all I gotta say. I'm sure you do great though Kristi. We all have our days!!
Kristi-My kids were driving me crazy one day and finally I had had it and I swore at them! One of my children, whom will remain nameless and to whom you are married, was running through the house yelling "I'm telling Daddy,
I'm telling Daddy!" I felt like a 7 year old about to get a spanking when Scott walked through the door! Imagine my joy and Derek's dissappointment when Scott said "You should never make your mother so mad that she has to swear at you!" I wish I could say that was the last time I ever swore...and the last time Derek ever made me made enough to swear! Somedays are just too overwhelming! You are a great Mommy and I could not be more proud of you as a daughter! Love your bunz! Dianne
