Erica and I were really stoked about going to the aquarium after the gardens (we even left the gardens early to do so). We had read online about it and couldn't wait for the shark presentation. The kids were equally excited and had being talking about it all day.
Well, we walked into the aquarium and I couldn't help but think "this is it?" you have got to be kidding me. :) The whole place was about the size of my kitchen and laundry room and the "shark presentation" was us standing around a tub while someone was talking. I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of sea world or something, and was pretty disappointed......until the touch tank!
the sharks were pretty cool though

This guy weighed 18 pounds and just sat there.
I was starting to think he was fake, but he did move an antenna a little.

We LOVED LOVED LOVED the touch tank. They had so many different sea creatures for us to pick up and explore that we ended up having a great time in a tiny room. We held starfish, sea cucumbers, crabs, clams, lobsters, snails, sea urchins, sand dollars, and so much more! We spent over an hour talking with the workers and learning all about the amazing creatures! Erica, myself and Kennedy loved it the most I think, but everyone was brave enough to touch a few things.
Loving it!

She is explaining to us about a moon snail. This guy was my favorite! He was so slimy and amazing. He digs deep into the sand and crawls around barely visible eating things up. His shell grows with him, and you can see the lines all over it everytime he gets bigger.
Xan-man with the moon snail

I don't look too impressed with this starfish, but I was!
They are so cool.
sea cucumber. They are so strange!
Horse shoe crab

Erica giving some love to the horse shoe crab

the spider crab creeped me out the most for sure! It looks just like a spider and is large and walks sideways it is almost furry and is just creepy! I was braved and held it though.
Samie loving on a crab

In the end we are so glad we went to the tiny aquarium. It was so great and we learned a lot about sea creatures and sharks. The kids were great all day, and we had a super time!

I felt the same way when I first walked into that aquarium when we went last year. It is sooo tiny! But the touch tank really makes up for it. I'm glad you were able to make it, I really wanted to go again this year but it is a long drive, and we never got aorund to it. Looks like everyone had fun though.
