Xander has been so excited all summer to go to school, and on Monday it was the BIG day! He couldn't wait to wear his "fast" shoes and show his new friends his running skills. He also thought his Ironman back pack was the coolest, not to mention his Lego Batman shirt. (I really tried to persuade him to wear something I had picked out for the first day, but his excitement won me over). He is in afternoon Pre-K and it was a long 3 hours until it was his turn to go to school.
Here he is making an X for Xander

All ready to go

Waiting for the bus

We ended up waiting for 40 minutes for the bus and it never came! He was a little heart broken when I told him I would have to take him to school instead. He kept asking "Why did they forget me?" (I will say this made me tear up a little). I know he was super excited to take the big yellow bus he saw Kennedy board just that morning, but it would have to wait.
He ended up being late and was in a hurry to join the other kids.
He found his cubby super fast.

"you can leave now mom!"
When I went to pick him up I was a little nervous. Did he listen? Was he nice? Did he run all over the room? Did he share? I had nothing to worry about though, his teacher told me he was a GREAT listener and was such a fun boy! WAHOOO!!!
I went into the office and let them know they forgot one adorable boy on the bus that morning, and the next day Xander was happy to see the Big Yellow Bus had not forgotten him again.

What a smile!

My little man going on the bus.
He went right over to the window and held up the I love you sign.
Man, I love that sweet boy!

....off he goes

Yay for Xander! I can only hope that my "will he listen" worries will be put at ease next week. Can I tell you that I am totally envious of all of your fun beach day pics. Your kids will have the fondest memories of summer days at the beach. So fun! Also, loved your little notes post. Such cute, sweet kids! I need to be better at blogging. You inspire me! Love ya!
Aww! He looks so happy/excited in all his pictures. :o) So happy everything turned out ok, even after the bus ended up forgetting him. He's such a handsome little guy.
Sorry Xander got left the first day of school. That is sad, but it looks like he got over and did well in school. Jake likes his "fast shoes" too. Let me know if you need any advice with him, I have one who is 7.
